After more than two decades leading football programs, I have learned that one of the most important mental skills a leader can develop is the ability to recognize an event, good or bad, and respond productively as quickly as possible.
I cannot control every circumstance. I can control how I prepare, how I lead, and how I respond. When adversity strikes, my staff and players need a head coach who maintains his composure, sees the situation clearly, and leads with purpose.

A 12-year leadership tenure that transformed expectations: first playoff appearance in school history, three playoff berths in four seasons, a six-win season (most since 1963), and 100% graduation over the final five years.
Led the Cougars to five wins in 2019, their best record since 2012, while establishing a foundation of standards, belief and player development.
Led KCU to five wins in 2025, its best fall-season win total since 2012, while raising the team GPA to a program-high 3.2 and expanding leadership and resource development.
Kentucky Christian averaged 2.4 wins per season in the five seasons before Coach Aubry arrived (excluding 2020). In 2025, the Knights won five games, the program’s best fall-season win total since 2012. The work continues through academic achievement, player development, resource generation and higher competitive standards.
